Zubat
Stats:
HP: 40
Atk: 45
Def: 35
Sp: 40
Spe: 55
Total: 215
Placed Tier: RBY LC
Type: Poison / Flying
Description: With rather weak stats and a limited movepool, one would think that Zubat is rather useless. However it has all it needs to succeed thanks to a very specific movepool. With bad defense typing thanks to its secondary Flying type, it won't be able to take many hits. So it won't get many chances to switch in. If Zubat had a bit more speed, it would be used more often, but sadly base 55 speed keeps it in the shadows.
Set #1: Utility
- Confuse Ray
- Toxic / Double Edge
- Substitute
- Mega Drain
Set Explanation: Use Confuse Ray, get behind a Substitute, Toxic if the opponent has a lot of HP or you could run Double Edge and have Zubat do some actual damage. Mega Drain is a nasty surprise for Pokemon like Geodude who think they have a free switch into Zubat.
Counters: Gastly, Abra, Poliwag, pretty much anything that's faster and has access to Psychic, Thunderbolt or Ice Beam.
