Gothitelle(Psychic)
Gothitelle is a Pokemon that is often used purely because of how awesome it looks. It is a Pokemon based off of a goth/scene kid and that straight up makes it popular given that the general audience of anime is a goth/scene kid. Overall it is not particularly powerful but it is a Pokemon that people just like to use based on its looks. One thing that is a little confusing about Gothitelle is the fact that, despite its obvious Emo look, it is not part-Dark type. This is actually a little baffling as a dual-typing could really have aided Gothitelle.
Base Stats
HP- 70
ATK- 55
DEF- 95
SP ATK- 95
SP DEF- 110
SPD- 65
TOTAL- 490
As can be seen clearly, Gothitelle has some pretty good stats, particularly its special defense, but is not particularly powerful. It is a Pokemon that can be used as a Wall, primarily due to its special defense, as a means to take a few hits from a fellow psychic type.It is also a Pokemon that could be used as a Special Sweeper. This Pokemon really is just intended as a defensive Pokemon with its good defense and special defense. The Attack stat and Speed stat are particularly average, its Sp Attack is good and therefore this can be used to its advantage but overall it is not a Pokemon that I recommend using in competitive play.
Potential Moveset
Light Screen
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Calm Mind
Psychic
Toxic
Attract
Rest
The first moveset is geared toward being a Special Sweeper, using Light Screen and Calm Mind as added layers of defense whilst Psychic and Thunderbolt should make adequate use of the decent special attack that Gothitelle is blessed with.
The latter of these two movesets is clearly geared toward being more of an annoyance. It is intended so that you set up Toxic and Attract and then proceed to Rest and outlast your opponent as the Toxic slowly ticks down its health, throwing a Psychic in whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Gothitelle (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psychic/Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]/[Fire]/Signal Beam
- Trick
This set takes full advantage of Shadow Tag, as Choice Specs boosts Gothitelle's attacking power just to KO or significantly damage nearly any threat he comes across. The battle plan is simple; Gothitelle should switch into any potential threat to his team and use the appropriate move to quickly discard or cripple the intended target. Ideally, Gothitelle should have been able to eliminate or weaken any threat necessary before fainting so his teammates are able to clean up or sweep with little problems afterward.
The first slot is reserved for Gothitelle's chosen STAB move. Psychic is the preferred out of the two due to its higher base power and ability to hit physical walls hard without other coverage moves. Psyshock, on the other hand, enables Gothitelle to take down many specially defensive threats, such as Blissey, Terrakion in Sandstorm, and Virizion, without faltering or using Trick too early. However, its benefit only really applies to offensive threats similar to Terrakion and Virizion, since Gothitelle can simply use Trick to cripple walls like Blissey. Thunderbolt grants decent coverage with Psychic-type STAB and provides a reliable way to dispose of Water-types and Skarmory.
Finally, the third attacking move depends on the specific targets Gothitelle's team needs eliminated. Hidden Power Ice removes Gliscor, as well as other Ground- or Flying-type walls, and provides good coverage alongside Thunderbolt. Hidden Power Fire hurts Scizor and Ferrothorn amongst other Steel-types, though keep in mind that Gothitelle isn't necessarily a good switch-in or answer to either of them. If you need Gothitelle to handle Celebi, which can trouble rain teams and take other attacks with ease, as well as other Psychic- or Dark-types, use Signal Beam instead.
A CM and even TR set is all very viable, to show its versatility. Might also want to try heal bell on the dual screens set.
